Rebooting Your Viewing Habit

Now here is an interesting comic, not just for children but also for the young in heart. Restart is a really exciting series, as it combined a pretty interesting concept with stunning visual effects. And with good sense of humor too.

Restart follows the exploits of a fictional world that lives inside a computer system. The world is known as the mainframe, and citizens must battle in the "Game Cubes" in order to save parts of the city from being destroyed. Most of the series focuses on the adventures of Bob and his group of the devil. "Subsequent seasons changed its story to the characters and Enzo AndrAIa (it is actually how they spell it).

Restart is very interesting that it was the very first cartoon to hire a full 3D computer graphics for the entire show. Although they are not really amazing by current standards, the series' bold decision to use 3D instead of traditional 2D animation was a clear step towards the introduction of CGI (computer generated images) to mainstream cartoons, which have become very popular in days. There was also a big improvement in graphics and design in recent seasons, which resulted in better animation.

Apart from the visuals, another great thing about this series is its story. While the episodes of the first season was directed more to younger children, with bright colors and action sequences and single-episode stories. Subsequent seasons will be darker and more oriented towards older people and teenagers. The character design was redone to match the new style. In recent seasons, so also more character development as it focuses on the maturity of both Enzo and AndrAIa.

Humor is very much a staple of the series. True to the computer theme evident in the series (titled Restart in itself is an expression of restarting a computer), the show abounds in IT-related in-jokes and gags. Almost all the citizens of Mainframe is named after a computer term or anything related to it.

The series also abounds in parodies of popular culture. The 'game', appearing in the game cube shown in each episode contains a host of other characters that are from different movies, games and TV shows. It would be very amusing to find out when the homage to view Reboot DVD.

Perhaps the most interesting set of jokes about the show are the ones who stick fun online censorship that plagued the series's run. Most of the jokes are in the form of witty dialogues and catch phrases. There are some cases that these are the kind of gags that show the apparent absurdity or otherwise nonsensical nature of many restrictions on them.
