Health Doctor's Strike In Gujarat

Strike or a group’s refusal to work in protest against low pay or bad work conditions is not alien to human society and thanks to struggles of several decades and also militant ideologies that are well-versed in exploiting the same as a maneuver, commoners are well-versed of it than ever before. But at times, the intensity of strikes does torment the civic life and the society becomes the worst casualty. A similar strike in being witnessed in the Indian state of Gujarat, these days, and with the passing of each day the matter is getting worse. There has been no amicable solution to settle the issue of striking resident doctors to end the stalemate and the state-based health care system is on the verge of collapse. It is to be noted that the fierce agitation of resident doctors has reached the ninth day only. Has there been any initiative on the part of government? Well, the state of government is deciding to deal with the matter severely through applying stringent measures against the leaders of the state-wide agitation and already it has urged their deregistration from the resident ship. Nevertheless, the majority of experts consider this as a tactical and grave mistake. As per the latest information, the state government has cancelled the registration of 40 resident doctors, including 31 from NHL Medical College and BJ Medical College. While in Surat, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University deregistered 82 doctors including 65 from Government Medical College and 17 from SMIME, in Vadodara, two resident doctors were deregistered by the Baroda Medical College.
