So you want a job interview tomorrow. You really want that new job, pay is high, the benefits package is fantastic and it's really a good career move for you. You believe in your abilities, you have a good shot at landing it. You know that first impressions last. You've planned your outfit in the morning, wondering what colors to wear for your make-up, and you've already done your nails. You even bought a new pair of pantyhose just to make sure that you carry will have no disadvantages. Everything you need to do is get into costume, and to drive you to your interview early enough to reach the place where the interview five minutes before your appointment.
But are not you forgetting something? What about your shoes? What?! It does not matter because nobody will look at them? That is, you're wrong, girl. Of course people will look at your shoes. If they do not fit the overall impression you're trying to aim for when you meet your interviewer, so you may end up a goner. The shoes you use must complete the look you want to have when you do that job interview. The perfect shoes for the corporate look should dress shoes with closed toes and heels that are three inches or less. If you can manage the apartments, so you should go after them. Most of all, your shoes are clean and will complement your outfit. Wearing scruffy and dirty shoes for an interview will not help you land the job. Actually you are more likely to lose this career opportunity by wearing scruffy and dirty shoes, these shoes give the interviewer that you are a sloppy and careless person.
But that does not mean that you can not show your personal style through your shoes. You can still do it, but you must remember that the look you choose must suit the job you seek. When you apply for a position in banking and finance sector, try to be a little more cautious. If you are looking for a job that allows you to be more creative in advertising, so wear something that speaks creative, like large buckles or animal prints.
Apart from the dirty and scruffy shoes, never ever wear this kind of shoes to a job interview:
Sneakers. Sure, sneakers are very comfortable and relaxed, but they are not formal enough.Interviews are formal affairs. Flip-flops, sandals and open-toed shoes. Again, interviews are formal affairs, and should therefore be treated formally. Flip-flops, sandals and open-toed shoes, although they look classy enough, still looks informal and should not be worn on job interviews. Extremely high heels. High heels look great. They make you look taller and slimmer. But they are not as practical. You do not want to meet an accident and sprain your ankle while you're rushing to get to your interview on time. Also would you want your feet to be comfortable while you talk with your interviewer. Pain caused by extremely high heels to show on your face. Decorated shoes. Shoes with too many decorative as crystals or pieces of metal are good for evening wear, not for an office scene. And certainly not for interviews. Put your best foot forward in your interview. And good luck!
