Conveyor belts are the most commonly used bulk handling conveyors in history because of their reliability, versatility, and range in capacity. Materials from fine powders to large, lumpy stones can be handled on a conveyor belt. Conveyor belts are used in a wide variety of material transport applications such as manufacturing, food processing and heavy industry. Belt construction and materials are often application-specific. Belt materials and configurations vary for specific applications such as roofing shingle supply, quarry gravel transport and a very wide range of others. Commercial applications include:
Agriculture
Construction - heavy construction materials
Food and Beverage
Forestry - logging, sawmills, pulp, etc.
Mining and quarrying

Conveyor Options
Channel Stringer belt conveyors:
Conveyor designed with channel stringers found in 10 "and 20" flat sections. Depending on the required conveyor length, an additional nonstandard length section will be delivered. A bolted splice plate connection joins and stiffens each session. Conveyor channel stringer parts can be joined to the truss sections on specific horizontal framework for spanning distances that require a truss section while it is still possible channel stringers to be used once covered the distance does not require a truss. Channel Frame Conveyor design is especially suited for locations where overhead clearance is limited.
Truss Frame Conveyors:
Truss frame conveyors are available in 24 'deep and 42' deep sections. As with the channel frame conveyor, a non-standard device may be necessary to meet customer needs conveyor length. The truss frame conveyors used in applications where a channel frame conveyor can not span an unsupported distance required by the customer.
Slider Bed Belt conveyors:
Heavy, conservative design ensures long life, while minimizing the number of auxiliary structures needed for industries using light bulk densities. Airlines that require moderate slope (23 degrees or less) may be provided with special cleated belts.
U-trough belt conveyors:
U-trough conveyors used to provide better material containment on the carrying run. Minimizes fallback and increase the efficiency of chewing applications when used with wood chips to provide more inter-meshing of the material.
Flat Slide belt conveyors:
Flat slide conveyors used when weighing the material is required when the belt acts as a feeder or when the limited overhead clearance requires a flat slide design.
Totally enclosed belt conveyors:
Sealed envelope, and the drip pan option for virtually dust-free material belt transmission. Corrugated cardboard or non-wavy cover. Drip pan is 14 ga. Standard steel constructions.
Custom Engineered belt conveyors:
If none of the fixed conveyor design that fits your needs, Orthmann Conveying Systems will be happy to design a custom conveyor application for you. By supplying us with the specifications and / or drawings that illustrate the particular application, we will be able to produce general arrangement drawings for approval. 16'0 "Long conveyor
Conveyor Features:
18 "wide belting
Channel frame structure
Fixed switches
Security & pull chord switch
Assembled without drives
Belt Cleaners:
Orthmann Conveying Systems has several different styles of industrial and food grade belt cleaners. The most standard design is a spring-loaded belt cleaner with either a rubber or UHMW scraper blade. This type of cleaner is the most used, and will provide sufficient cleaning in most applications. Motorized brush-type cleaners are also available for applications where the scraper-type cleaner does not remove enough material. Contact with Orthmann Transport equipment to determine what type of belt cleaner best fits your application.
Flanged valves Load Hopper:
Load hoppers are available to non-enclosed conveyors. A load Hopper is able to guide the incoming flow of material on the belt. Hopper load bolts to the top of the conveyor structure. If necessary, impact idlers or a load section is located under the hopper discharges. The chute sides may be inclined or vertically to fit customers' applications.
Standard Conveyor Covers:
We offer a range of standard conveyor covers. These covers are designed to protect the belt material and idlers from the weather and other pollutants. Also protect conveyor belt from being sun dried and damaged more than protect idler rollers and belt from freezing.
Conveyor deck plates:
Deck plates for conveyor belt is an optional feature used to deflect any material from the carrying run of the belting to falloning on the return run of the belting. Typically, 16 ga. material is used, although the customer can specify thicker material if necessary. Inclined conveyor decking is designed to shed water and dirt while protecting the belt and return idlers.
Spill Tray:
Crucial to conveyors running in areas where delicate machinery or people may be under the factory conveyor belt drip pan is designed to keep some material on the accounting (if no deck plates) and back run from the title belts. For completely closed conveyor packages will be provided to ensure that the drip pan is dustproof.
