Cabin Decorating Ideas

Decorating a rustic cabin might be a fun and rewarding experience. The huts are places to put your feet up and relax. Your vacation should reflect that feeling. A good way to do this is to select the items you will not have to worry about getting beaten up. Antiques offer a great look and has already taken years of use and abuse. Looking through the antique shops are a great activity for a rainy day, and can become a fun hobby, while the weekend getaways.

Many cottages have either log interior, Post & beam building or feature tongue and groove pine panels. This leaves a pretty rich feel, but can leave you longing to add color. Cabin style wall decor takes care of this nicely. Vintage cabin signs using vivid colors on wood or metal and have the cabin and forest scenes and / or pictures of animals such as bear and moose. Reproduction signs can be personalized so you can add your family, cabin, lake or city name and make it your own. Paintings, prints and art can often be found in nearby stores by local artists.

Another way to add color in the choice of carpeting. Cabin style rugs using geometric shapes or repeating patterns of animals, fish, mountains or other relevant information to produce the right look and feel.

If you choose a living room carpet with a bear or moose print, you may want to choose a simple pattern or solid color to your upholstered furniture. A braided rug or carpet with a simple border leaves door open for more creative resolutions for your living room furniture. Hickory sofas and love seats with lodge style fabric is a natural fit.

Birch bark, twig and hickory furniture and accessories always nice, and somehow make a camp or cottage more relaxing.

Rustic lighting can really set the tone. A popular choice for chandeliers, antler. Deer, elk and moose shed their antlers in the season, so if you're concerned about animals being harmed to create these works, so make sure you choose a company which uses naturally shed antlers or resin. Colored glass, mica and twig lamps are also found in many rustic style.

There are plenty of options when shopping for cabin furniture. Many websites specialize in rustic surroundings and more and more manufacturers are adding high country lodge objections to their lines.
