Aircel launches handset Rs. 2,999

Aircel has unveiled a device called 'Peek' that comes with a Qwerty keyboard and is mainly targeted to the Indian email users. With a price tag of Rs. 2,999, Aircel claims that the Peek is the thinnest email device in the market.
Aircel Peek is available in the two colors, black and red and users can currently configure only three email accounts, reports Keith Dsouza of Techie Buzz. Battery life is supposedly 2-3 days, but expect it can be lower is continuously used. To top it users can only store up-to 5000 email message right now and about 1000 contacts.
Users will have to pay an initial amount of Rs. 897 for email access for 90 days and then have to shell out a monthly charge of Rs. 299 every month to download their emails. The biggest setback for the device is that without an internet connection it becomes useless because you can’t make calls using it.
