Backpackers will be looking for a lightweight camp cooker that best suits compact as possible for the backpack. Car camping family will be looking for something to cook enough to make a good meal 2 or 3 times a day without concern about weight and space.
Camp ovens come in different shapes, sizes, weights, fuel types and performance. Knowledge is king when selecting different camping equipment items needed. It comes to finding the best oven for the kind of trip to be taken.
For the more serious camping, hiking and mountaineering will be the best tours stove and research rock mustard.
Performance / fuel types
Performance will vary depending on the type of spent fuel. Propane camp stoves performance is measured in BTU's (British Thermal Unit). Put simply for a propane stove higher the BTU's in the 1000's better output (heat).
Propane is probably the most widely used fuel for a stove. The positive aspect of a gas cooker is the lack of maintenance needs and ease of use. Although, most propane stoves cost more to refill. In contrast to the liquid fuel camping stoves.
Liquid fuel stoves run on white gas (Coleman fuel) available at various camping stores. However, leave the country, may prove more difficult to find white gas. It is the place where the multi-fuel stoves do there, to be the best solution. Other liquid fuels used to run on kerosene, alcohol, and unleaded gasoline (petrol).
Use of liquid-fuel stoves will require priming, preparation and maintenance, which proves easy enough with the many available instruction manuals for use. In short, a fuel such as kerosene create much unwanted dirty soot. Liquid fuels have many advantages, including low cost and performance at low temperatures.
Awareness of what wood stoves and fuel the best performance in different weather's support will select the best stove.
Buy a camp stove
You do really have a wealth of very good opportunities for a quality stove. Investing in a good brand, I think is important. Two of my favorite brands are MSR and Coleman. I assess the Coleman family camping without a doubt and MSR for solo camping, hiking and backpacking.
I found it paid to invest, otherwise I will end up buying again. As the old saying goes buy cheap, pay twice.
Family
A stove with two burners would be the best opportunity to make enough room to cook a couple of pots for a meal. They may already have a wind-screens mounted or you may need to provide your own. Setting up a stable stove before cooking is important. Especially around children.
A couple Safety Thoughts
Whichever stove you choose to be as safe as possible. Most security is common sense, although it is common sense stuff that causes many difficulties. Your stove will come with instructions for use. I will always have an explosion, before you get out. This helps to get familiar with the functions of the stove, and also to check that everything is okay.
When refilling a fuel stove with oven allows to cool down to prevent burns. With solid fuel camping stoves allow spilled fuel to evaporate before ignition. Using a funnel for fuel will help prevent spills.
Before you leave home, make a camp stove safety check. This definitely recommended for all camping gear, if it has been stored away for the winter or a long period. Check hoses and valves for cracks or leaks.
