Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Wednesday (7 April) warned his American colleague Barack Obama for a "tooth-breaking" answer when he condemned Washington's new nuclear policy.
"I hope these published comments are not true, he (Obama) threatened with nuclear and chemical weapons, the nations that do not abide by the greed of the United States," Ahmadinejad said in the speech broadcast live on state television.
"Be careful. If you set step in Mr. George W Bush's way, would the nations' response should be the same tooth-breaking, as they did Bush," he said.
United States unveiled new limits on the nation's nuclear arsenal yesterday, saying it would only use nuclear weapons in "extreme circumstances" and would not attack non-nuclear states.
In a change of strategy, said the United States for the first time that countries without nuclear weapons that met non-proliferation commitments need not fear a U.S. nuclear attack.
But Obama warned exceptions can be made for "outliers" such as Iran and North Korea, both accused by the West of violating UN resolutions.
