Ambani Group proposed Dadri power plant:Mr.Deora

The government on Monday told the Lok Sabha that it has got nothing to do with the “private dispute” of two industries and industrialists as far as supply of gas from the KG D-6 gas field is concerned, but will do everything to protect the interest of the government and the public. Making a statement in the House in response to Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh’s allegations that Uttar Pradesh was being discriminated against, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora said: “It is our constitutional and legal obligation. We will make all endeavours to protect the government’s legal rights to regulate the utilisation of gas and its allocation.” Mr. Deora said the Anil Ambani group’s proposed Dadri power plant would be considered for gas along with other such projects. Unhappy with the Minister’s response, the SP members raised slogans and had heated arguments with the Treasury benches, leading to the adjournment of the House twice. The first one happened soon after Mr. Deora’s statement and the second in the post-lunch session.
