Hyundai i20 coming before the end of the year

Hyundai plans to launch their latest model i20 in the Indian market before the end of the month.

This new model is a five door hatchback and will further expand the offer from the company.

Hyundai is already selling the relatively minor I10 hatchback in India.

Hyundai i20 model exhibited at the Paris Motor Show 2008 in October.

Hyundai i20 is expected to be priced at RS 5-5.5-lakh range.

It would compete against existing models on the market, including Maruti Swift, Soda Fabian.

Hyundai said the i20 would be operated in India with a 1.4-liter gasoline engine Kappa.

The company has already started to export this model to their European markets. This is the replacement model in these markets for Hyundai Getz, still sold in India.

Hyundai Motor India senior VP Arvind Sabena spoke about the possibility of replacing their older models with the new: "A lot will depend on market conditions. In another five years, a number of our models or can not be phased out."
