Anniversary Gifts That Are Really Meaningful

Our 30: e wedding coming up in a few months and until a few days ago I was in panic. My Track Record to find anniversary gifts for my wife has been very poor over the years. We've even been known to adhere to "forget" a few anniversaries just because of pressure to find anniversary gifts to each other.

For our 30: e wedding we are actually planning a party at home with our children and grandchildren and some close friends and family. We no doubt receive some nice anniversary gifts from them, but I'd really like to make a spectacular gift for my wife, who will be both romantic and meaningful.

Before we commenced to have children, we used to go away for a weekend to a nice hotel (same hotel every year) to celebrate our anniversary. It took about five years before my wife finally confessed that she did not really like the hotel or the place at this time of year, and felt it was a waste of money.

After the children came celebrate anniversaries were sketchy. If we planned a dinner at a nice restaurant invariably one of the children were sick or babysitter canceled. I dropped it a habit to buy anniversary gifts jewelry (which my wife rarely bars) or clothes (that she normally exchanged after a polite interval).

Finally we came to an unspoken agreement that she would buy and selecting anniversary gifts themselves, and is a practical and thrifty sort, she usually ended up buying something useful for the house. One year it was a vacuum cleaner! Not very romantic, I must admit.

This year, I would like to make an idea for an anniversary gift to outshine all the anniversary gifts ever for our 30: e. I would like to make it personal, romantic and unique, and I want it to somehow show her how much I love her and appreciate what a great partner, she has been for me over the 30 years we have been married.

After shopping all the usual outlets I could not find anything special enough, much less clear. Finally, I searched on the internet. I checked all the usual sites suggest gift anniversary gifts without being inspired and then suddenly turn on the perfect proposal in an online art gallery photo to painting website: an original oil painting to be created from a photograph, I would supply.

I had several other media to choose from (watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, etc.) and many sizes and frame options. I chose a 20 "x 40" oil painting, two figures, gallery wrap (because I know my wife would like to frame it yourself). I sent our favorite photo of the two of us taken last summer at the cottage.

I'm sure it will come out great and will be a wonderful surprise and I have no doubt that it would be the best of all anniversary gifts she ever received.
