The Safety Officer an e High-Def Digital Baby Monitor has a high quality, clear picture, color day vision and black and white night vision (infrared). That said, it is not "high-def" standards for a high-definition TV, but it's high-definition in relation to the image of the other monitors at the moment. Remember it is a baby monitor, not a camcorder, it works perfectly for its purpose.

Sound and reception:

Sound quality and reception is very good, excellent actually. Overall, there is no static or interference, but there is sometimes a soft "whoosh" (white noise) of interference which may be in the background when the receiver is turned on. The microphone is very sensitive and can pick up your child at least sound as breathing sounds, which is very reassuring to hear or turn down, so you can hear the cry, but not breathing or just mumble.

Reception is excellent, it also has a great range of 650 feet, you should be able to move anywhere in the house without loss of quality.

It seems to vary a great deal on SAFETY 1ST High-Def Digital Color Baby Monitor will interfere with your wireless network or not. Most people experience no conflict with their wireless Internet at all, but some people have experienced sporadic disturbances, which have closed their wireless internet service for a few minutes.

Pan / Tilt function:

From handheld parent unit, you can zoom the image 2X to 4X. While in a zoomed view, you can move to the right, left, up or down in the picture. Zoom feature is actually produces relatively clean images.

Time Out Feature:

The Safety Officer an e High Def Digital Video Baby Monitor has an on-screen menu that allows you to set your preferences for Time Out AUTO level, Night vision (infrared) and add other cameras. 'Time Out' you can set how long you will be on the screen before it automatically shuts off to save battery life - 5 seconds, 15 seconds, 25 seconds, or OFF, which leaves it until you turn it off. The sound continues after the screen goes off, unless you set AUTO LEVEL, which converts sound and then turn it on if there is noise in the room. For night vision, you can activate the infrared on, off or automatic.

Safety 1: a Logo:

There is a SAFETY 1ST logo screen that comes on every time you turn the screen on, but it is only there for 3 seconds then shuts off automatically or pushing the left button to manually turn it off.

Volume Control:

To change the volume you need to switch on the screen first, which beeps, wait for a security: a logo to disappear, then adjust the volume. Each time you press a button on the handheld monitor that beeps softly, the beep function is not turned down in volume or completely off.

Overall, despite a few minor features that some parents dislike, a security e High Def Digital Video Baby Monitor is still highly recommended by parents who use this digital video monitor.
