The students, who have been ordered to vacate their hostels, stayed put even on Tuesday and held a rally outside the college of veterinary sciences. One of the students said, “The university officials should support us in our agitation against the state government. We are demanding that the state government should not allow the mushrooming of private pharmacy colleges in the state and in case the state government feels that there is a need of more graduates, it should strengthen GADVASU.”
Dr Simrat Sagar, Dean, College of Veterinary Sciences, said, “We have called a meeting of parents tomorrow. We have tried to call up parents of all the 300 students. The local guardians of NRI students have also been sounded. I will address the parents and apprise them of the reality.”
