Counselling For MBBS and BDS courses Starts From Monday

Counselling for admission into MBBS and BDS courses under the open category is all set to begin on Monday. It will continue till July 26. Earlier, there was uncertainty over the counselling process due to delay in the release of the approved list of colleges by the Medical Council of India (MCI). ccording to the NTR Health University, there is no increase in the intake of students in government colleges, while the intake in some of the private colleges has been raised. When contacted, Registrar, NTR Health University, T Venugopala Rao said approval from MCI was final and the intake strictly based on the infrastructure and allied facilities available in colleges or universities. But with no increase in seats in government medical colleges, it would be doubly difficult for students aspiring to become doctors because seats under the management quota or the ‘C’ category have been hiked from 30 to 40 per cent. In other words, it means, seats under the open category or B category have been reduced to 10 per cent from 20 per cent.
