Anju Gupta, the IPS officer who was L K Advani's personal security officer when the Babri masjid was demolished, will testify today before a CBI court in Raebareli.
Gupta's testimony was crucial for framing charges against L K Advani in 2005, and if she stands by her statements given to the investigating officer then this will strengthen the CBI's case against the BJP Leader.
In her statement to the CBI, Anju Gupta had said: ''As soon as Advani arrived the situation became tense, it worsened as he spoke. When the first, second and third domes fell, Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Rithambara hugged each other and distributed sweets...(They) expressed happiness by hugging Advani, Joshi and S C Dixit. After the domes fell, they congratulated each other.''
