Ways Parents Can Encourage Older Children

If the child, youth or teen is embarrassed to wear the diapers and plastic pants to bed, there are a number of different ways you can encourage them. Firstly, one can emphasize how much more pleasant it would be waking up in a dry bed. Secondly, you can get them out to different chatrooms and online forums (with a young child it is a good idea to supervise them while they do it) so they can talk with people in similar circumstances. There are many online forums and chat room dealing with bedwetting and incontinence problems. Sometimes it helps to have a sympathetic ear and to realize that there are other people in the same boat.

Thirdly, you should tell them that there are a large number of adults who wet the bed and many of them also wear night diapers. We will let the child know that they probably feel a bit embarrassed wearing diapers too, but they understand that ultimately it is in their best interest to wear them. We read about cases where one or more parents have bedwetting problems, but their children did not. The parent, you might feel embarrassed about wearing diapers to bed, but many times the children are understanding and support of their parents. You can also mention that there are plenty of cases of adults who buy diapers for other adults. An example of this is when a child buys diapers for their parents or parents who have health problems that require them. Another example is if a married couple dealing with bedwetting. In this case the spouse to the bed-wetter encourages them to wear diapers to bed. Although they may feel embarrassed at the prospect of wearing diapers they realize it is in their best interest, in addition to being responsive to the person who shares the bed with them. These are points that should be brought up to the older children, adolescents, or the teenager, who must wear diapers at night.

A fourth strategy, you might want to consider is this. If your budget allows, we would order a large or extra large adult size pair plastic pants and / or diapers. By showing the young real couples adult size plastic pants or diapers in AA, which is higher than what they would normally wear, it can help them feel better about wearing diapers to bed. By actually seeing an adult size, it reinforces the fact that adults wear them to bed too. This will help them more psychological as opposed to merely seeing something on a website.

Fifth, can you explain to them that people have different needs regarding the management of their incontinence, this is why they have so many different styles of incontinence garments. There are different levels of incontinence-wet some more than others. You have to emphasize that the young that what works for one person might not be as effective for another. Sixth, to emphasize that the child or teen that they are only wearing the diapers at night. Unlike during the day, it is much easier to hide the use of diapers at night.

The last idea we have is to implement a reward system designed to encourage the child or teenager to wear diapers to bed. You can offer to increase their performance with a certain amount. One could also say that if they agree to go with the diapers to bed for at least 6 months, they can earn a certain amount per month like $ 20.00 (or whatever amount parents can afford and are willing to pay them ). If they do not wear diapers and plastic pants to bed, you can deduct a dollar for each night, they do not wear them. Besides having a certain amount they can earn per month if economically feasible, it may be a good idea to purchase a gift for them as you can give them after 6 months trial period. Or they can earn a certain number of gold stars or points per month, which they can cash in for gifts. Again they will be towed a gold star or point every night, they do not wear diapers to bed.
