Headley did a recce on key Army

As part of a fresh exchange of information, the FBI has revealed that key Army installations in Pune and Raksha Bhavan, residential complex for senior Army officers in Delhi, were also on the radar of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) conduit David Headley.
“We now know that during his visit to Pune in March 2009 Headley had done extensive videography of the key installations of Army, besides Osho Ashram. He also did complete recce, including videography of Raksha Bhavan and National Defence College and passed on all information to his Pakbased handlers,” a top Home Ministry source said.
Pune cantonment houses headquarters of Southern Command of the Army, National Defence Academy, headquarters of Bombay Sappers, Sukhoi’s airbase and biggest medical college for the Armed Forces; while Raksha Bhavan in Delhi has residences for brigadierlevel officers. On receipt of information about a month ago the Centre alerted both Maharashtra and Delhi governments about the new targets on LeT’s radar.
These revelations have made India’s case for securing Headley’s custody stronger, sources said adding that India would make a bid for his extradition once the FBI is through with its investigations.
In any case, the FBI has told that it doesn’t want to hide any information from India about Headley.
“Securing Headley’s access shouldn’t be a problem.
We are almost ready with the chargesheet following which the court would be required to send a letter rogatory to the US court for getting him in custody,” sources said.
