The city is abuzz with one of the most awaited celestial events of the century set to take place on the morning of July 22. Surat is among the few places from where it will be possible to view and study this rare cosmic spectacle. Total solar eclipse will be seen for four minutes on Wednesday. Avid sky gazers and astronomers have started camping in the city. Gujarat Astronomy Association (GAA) has organized a two-day workshop on the grounds of Atmiya Vidya Mandir at Bharthana village near Kamrej, 30 km from the city. Around 200 astronomers, including 22 from Japan and five from the east European countries of Bulgaria and Romania, will be here from Tuesday. Experts from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad will also be present.
